"Puzzling structures" on the Asteroid 2005 YU55

This time it is official (unlike some of the other previous out of place "structures" found on asteroids), the Asteroid 2005 YU55 carries puzzling structures on its surface. It's what Lance Benner said, who works for Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. The photos taken by the scientists are still being examined, and are really being taken seriously because of this discovery on the asteroid's surface.




This happened a couple of weeks ago, but I am usually skeptic when it comes to this kind of things. It happened several times before in the past that some "man made structures" were found on asteroids, and in the end they were only hoaxes. This is why I waited a bit before posting it.
Only after the official confirmation of a NASA scientist I decided to post about it.

The fact that this asteroid got really close to the planet Earth (324.600 kilometers are nothing compared to the humongous dimensions of our universe) gave us the possibility to examine this kind of unknown objects like we never did before. And what we found is nothing short of amazing.

Some voices speak about a "too round" structure, for it to be a simple asteroid, in fact, it seems more like a little moon. Some other voices focus on the surface structures, which make it seem anything but a natural "piece of rock".

We'll have to wait a bit before finding a certain answer (and it isn't even sure if we are ever going to get one).
